Be a part of the SUP Yoga revolution and join us for an immersive 3-day SUP Yoga Teacher Training, Through this course, you will gain the knowledge and experience to become a qualified SUP Yoga teacher.
Paddleboard Maidenhead hosts 2 trainings a year taking just 5 yoga teachers at a time.

12 hours of practice is required outside of the course to qualify and this can done over the year and will be discussed further on the course. Some yoga teachers need more paddling time and improve skills and others more time teaching yoga on the water.
This SUP Yoga Teacher Training is accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals and a 40 hour specialist course such as this one is required by most yoga insurance companies to cover you in the event of an incidents. Please know in advance that most insurance companies also would require you to have support staff on hand whilst teaching you teach a yoga class on the water, ie lifeguard or SUP Instructor, if you are not already a SUP instructor The legal requirement is 1 instructor to 8 students on the water.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through 15 hours of paddling on various locations on the Thames local to Maidenhead, as well as 12 hours of practice outside of the course over the year. Most of this training will be lead by Tara Crist a senior yoga teacher and SUP Coach and director of Paddleboard Maidenhead Ltd. Over three full days, you will have many hours to practice your yoga style on the river, including asana sequencing, pranayama, meditation and relaxation– all while balancing on a paddleboard!
You don't need to be an expert paddleboarder as a big part of this three day training as working on your technique is all part of this training, so your turns and skills are more efficient and elegant! This course we also include the SUP Safety and rescue training so can fully support yourself and clients when needed. It really is a fully immersive and well rounded training. These are the training days
Friday 9am - 9pm- includes SUP Sunset night time paddle
Saturday 9am to 6pm- includes SUP skills and rescue training
Sunday 8am to 3pm teaching & supporting a SUP Yoga River Retreat.
Requirements
Paddleboarding experience is essential and you will improve immensely over the 3 days. There are 28 hours (80% of the course will be on the boards) with 12 hours of extra assignments if you are a yoga teacher wanting to qualify as a SUP Yoga teacher. Please read all the details to be found here.
