Youth Sailing - RYA Stage 1 & 2

Has your child ever wanted to learn to sail? If so, then this is the perfect course for them. A 4 day action packed 4 days introducing them to the incredible sport of sailing. Following the the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, we will introduce the youngsters through a step by step process. At the same time as making the learning fun and interesting. By completing the stage 2, this will allow your youngster to be able to join supervised sailing with the SWSA sailing club.

1. Minimum age is 8.
2. Maximum age is 14.

We provide all of the equipment required to take part in the activity, however you will need:

1. Swimwear for under the wetsuit
2. Footwear - an old pair of trainers or water shoes (this is a MUST)
3. A towel for afterwards.

If you have booked for a whole day activity you will need to bring a packed lunch, drink and snacks to keep you fueled for the day. You will have access to drinking water if needed.

We will be following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. Working towards the stage 1 and 2 syllabus.

1. For Stage 1 - to include; Launching and recovery, sailing across the wind, turning around, steering and basic parts of the boat.
2. Stage 2 - to include Improved sailing skills on all points of sail. Tacking, gybing, ropework and collision avoidance.
