The River Tay is a fantastic next step if you’ve previously paddled the SUP Spey trip with us. Its mix of calm stretches and exciting rapids, the Tay offers the perfect environment to challenge yourself and take your paddleboarding skills to the next level. This expedition gives you the opportunity to refine your technique, build confidence in moving water, and push your comfort zone in a supportive, guided setting. Whether you're navigating technical rapids or honing your river reading skills, this trip is designed to help you progress and grow as a paddler.
As with all expeditions, our journey is guided by nature—and river conditions can play a significant role. The flow and levels of the River Tay can vary, so a degree of flexibility is essential to ensure both safety and enjoyment. While we always aim to follow our planned route, adjustments may be made along the way in response to weather, water levels, or group needs. With that in mind, our intended plan is outlined below, giving a clear structure to the expedition while allowing room for the natural rhythm of the river to shape the experience.
Day 1: Kenmore to Aberfeldy
Day 2: Aberfeldy to Grandtully*
Day 3: Grandtully to Dunkeld
Day 4: Dunkeld to Perth
*A campsite option is available here with access to showers & toilets after taking on the challenge of the Grandtully Rapid.
