Adventure with a Purpose

Join us for a paddling adventure with a purpose. At Whoosh Explore we are running some special river clean up projects on the River Stort.

We are tackling plastic and rubbish pollution into the river as well as aiming to control some of the ever present invasive species on the River Stort. Booking onto our river clean up to help us improve our wonderful river environment.

Please note that this is an environmental task and there will be limited opportunity for coaching or instruction.

We often meet at a Pig Lane Twyford Lock and Paddling up to The Rose and Crown Public house in Bishops Stortford for the paddling session. ( we will aim to confirm this via an email close to the actual date of paddle )

All proceeds from this paddling session (minus booking fee) will be used to support Whoosh Explores environmental projects for the River Stort.

Being able to paddle is important as the focus of the activity is assisting in tidying the river.

Please bring Plastic bags and gloves to protect your hands from any sharp items collected. Please be aware that this activity will involve contact with litter which can be potentially harmful. Bring a bag to collect litter as well as gloves items to sanitise hands and boat after the paddle.

We will meet at Twyford Lock near Bishops Stortford CM227PA paddling to the Rose and Crown pub and assisting with the litter pick organised by the Save our Stort Group. (we are volunteering our time and any booking fees to this great cause- (we only ask a hire fee for this paddle so that we can allocate boats and equipment.) All money will go towards a fund to provide River Tidying Equipment for future events.
