    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING

This small group coached session has been designed for any confident pool swimmer who is new to open water. Whether you are planning a future sportive, mass swim event or a triathlon or you're just interested in Open Water swimming for health and fitness, this session will guide you through the essentials of entering and feeling comfortable in the water and we'll cover some useful skills as well such as sighting and strategies to cope with unexpected turbulence. This may also be a really useful session for anyone who has tried Open Water swimming but had a stressful experience and wants to give it another go.

Through friendly enthusiastic instruction and motivating guidance I aim to inspire you with the knowledge and confidence to make open water swimming fun.

Water temperatures are currently 20C and will prbably hold over 17-18C so wetsuits are not mandatory but advised if you are very new to Open Water (These can be hired at the time of booking).

We will plan for 15 mins introduction and wrap-up and 45mins water time. Juniors 15yrs+ welcome with participating adult (classed as adults for booking purposes).

If for any reason we have to cancel the session you will receive a voucher for a future session or a full refund of your payment.

    Requirements

Participants must be able to swim at least 200 metres continuously in a swimming pool. This session is open to juniors of 15yrs+ accompanied by an adult in the water. Juniors must be able to meet the minimum swimming requirements and will need to remain in within the group and follow coached instruction at all times.

    What to bring

Warm clothes for afterwards. Mandatory swim tow float, brightly coloured hats (can both be loaned free of charge pre-sanitised if you don't have your own).

Wetsuit hire is available at an additional extra for £5 at time for booking.

    Goggles optional.

    Itinerary

Through friendly enthusiastic instruction and motivating guidance I aim to inspire you with the knowledge and confidence to make your initial open water swimming experience fun.
