SLSGB REVALIDATIONS

A revalidation of your lifeguard or surf coach qualification.

Valid for 12 months from date of re-qualification.

Variety of first aid and rescue capacities as well as the current fitness tests:

1. FITNESS TEST
2. Beach lifeguard and Surf Coach Rescue: 400m swim in 8 mins
3. Surf coach safety : 100m run/100m sea swim/100m run AND 200m swim in less than 5 mins
4. CPR with defib
5. First aid scenarios and questions

Pre-requisites:

-Be a SLSGB member: follow the link to create or renew your SLSGB membership (+ £30): https://slsgb.justgo.com/

-Award still in date, or expired within the past 3 months at date of revalidation

DATES AND LOCATIONS:

-Sunday 18th May, 09:00 at Torcross, TQ7 2TQ

-Thursday 5th June, 12:30 at Bigbury on Sea, TQ7 4AS

1. Signed up paid member of SLSGB
2. 400m swim time for beach lifeguard and surf coach rescue re-qualifications

-Wetsuit, boots, hood, gloves or whatever you deem suitable for the activity and time of year AND warm clothing.

-Snacks/hot drinks

-Warm comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor first aid scenarios.

Award aims: The revalidation will update your SLSGB beach lifeguard or SLSGB surf coach safety and rescue for 12months. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times, board paddling, running and lifting.

Training and assessment process: Trained and assessed throughout the day by a SLSGB trainer assessor.

2. Water and beach based practical
