  • Description

    These social, activity based workshops, for all the family, are designed to top up theory knowledge regarding getting on the water safely and provide opportunity to socialise with other members from the club.

    The sessions have been designed to cater for all water based activities, whether you have an interest in sailing, powerboating or paddling.


    These sessions are led by experienced and knowledgeable speakers and will cover a range of topics that can top up your RYA log books and general knowledge over the series of workshops through the winter including rules of the road, being safe on the water, basic tidal knowledge, basic chartwork, interactive quizes and sailing racing skills.





    -16th Nov 2024 Boat Build Challenge (Different boating craft, knots, guest speaker, boat build challenge)



    -7th Dec 2024 Christmas related boating challenges (Interactive quiz to challenge different boating skills- Who will be crowned the Christmas winner?)



    -11th Jan 2025 Board Game Challenge ( Investigating different board games, improving who has right of way on the water, board game challenge)



    -8th Feb 2025 Pirate adventure (Basics of using charts and maps with a pirate theme)


    -8th Mar 2025 Preparation to returning to the water safely (Quizes and challenges)

    The bar will be open for all sessions.


    Weekend sessions include the option to join for Soup and a roll. (Please email with any dietary)


    Sessions are free to club members, small charge for non-members (discount to be applied at add-ons stage)

    What to bring

    Warm clothes appropriate for going out in the garden area or onto the beach (not entering the water!)

It's a great small venue with an eclectic mx of music from a turn up and play/sing to class acts at reasonable prices

Played a gig at The Sailing Club in the Old Customs House. Lovely venue, lovely audience. Arnside itself very pretty area. Estuary beautiful but care needed when walking on sand, especially with animals...lots of ...
