Arnside Sailing Club
Arnside Sailing Club offers paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing lessons.
Arnside is a great place for water sports. It is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with views across the estuary to the Lakeland Fells. The village has a long tradition of water sports. The Victorians held regattas. Arthur Ransome's Swallow was built in Arnside. The Club was 2022 Sailing Club of the Year finalist.
At Arnside we run beginner paddle board, sit on top kayak and sailing lessons for adults and children. At high tide we offer regular sailing sessions with an instructor for child and adult improvers.
Whilst at Killington near Sedbergh we run RYA sailing courses in double handers and four day youth sailing courses. We are a registered RYA training centre at Killington. We also have a well attended club night for members each week.
We also dinghy cruise and paddleboard at other locations in the Lake District.
Arnside Sailing Club is run by its members. We aim to keep our membership fees low so that cost is not a barrier to taking part. Paddle boards and kayaks are available for use by members free of charge, dinghies for £20 per year.
Our clubhouse in the Old Customs House is used for music nights and social events. Our cadet programme is free to members' children. Members enjoy a discount on water sports lessons.
Water sports lessons at Arnside are based at our Boat Park which is located on the Beach 10 minutes walk from the end of the Promenade rather than at our Club House in the Old Customs House on the Promenade.
