  • Description

We are running a two day club dinghy cruise on Windermere with safety boat cover. On Saturday we plan sailing up to Ambleside with the option of staying overnight at the YHA or elsewhere in the town. On Sunday we plan sailing back. The cruise is suitable for anyone with some sailing experience or has done a recent course, but not for complete beginners.

Price is £25 per member per day to help pay for launching fees and licencing a safety boat for use on Windermere. You can come for either a day or two days.

We will need help transporting boats to Windermere, if you have a towbar. We plan taking one or two Wanderers, the Gaffling Dinghy and possibly a Hartley 12 to the event. There will be up to three people per boat.

If you are a qualified safety boat driver you may have to take a turn in the safety boat during the cruise.

Part of the cruise at the Ambleside end may be filmed for the RYA.

The cruise is not open to non-members.

    Requirements

Be a competent sailor or have recently done a RYA dinghy sailing course.

    Normal sailing clothing. Buoyancy Aids

    Itinerary

Such a charismatic place. You have to look out for this modest fronted quirky entrance. Then up some old stairs, which open up into a large room that is perfect for the varied music evenings they host. When they have ...
