Enjoy a peaceful 1.5‑hour paddleboarding trip along the tranquil waterways of Burghfield. This gentle stretch of the River Kennet offers calm, flat water ideal for beginners and seasoned paddlers alike.

Your session begins at The Cunningman Pub, where a friendly, experienced instructor will guide you through the basics and help you feel confident on the board. Once on the water, you’ll glide through scenic canal paths, spot local wildlife, and soak up the natural beauty of this picturesque route.

2. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult on the water
3. All participants must make a purchase at The Cunningman pub or pay for parking

Minimum age 8

Children may share an adult’s board, as long as your total combined weight is under 150kg.

1. Suitable clothing for on the water that you don't mind getting wet. No denim or heavy clothing (We recommend long sleeved tops for evening trips)
2. Soft soled footwear or neoprene shoes
3. Wind or water proof layer depending on weather
4. Sun or warm hat depending on weather
5. Full change of clothes left in your vehicle for afterwards

1. If bringing your own paddleboard please ensure you have a correctly fitted buoyance aid and quick release waist belt. If you do not have these you will be unable to participate in our trip.

Meet at the end of the car park nearest the River.

Access the water from the canal path next to the car park before heading off for a there and back again paddle.

The direction of paddle will be decided on the day factoring in weather and water flow conditions and the groups choice.
