Join us for a full-day paddle adventure winding down the River Thames from Wokingham to Wargrave, with a tranquil detour through the hidden gem of St Pat’s Backwater. Expect peaceful stretches, lush riverbanks, and a chance to explore one of the Thames’ most scenic and secluded routes. Perfect for confident paddlers looking to stretch their skills and soak up the wild beauty of the waterway.

Requirements

  1. Water confidence
  2. Must be comfortable paddling for a whole day
  3. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult on the water
  4. Recommended age 16+
  5. Have a drink or meal at the pub at the end of the trip



What to bring

  1. Money for the bus to start point and for the pub at the end
  2. Suitable clothing for on the water that you don't mind getting wet. No denim or heavy clothing
  3. Soft soled footwear or neoprene shoes
  4. Wind or water proof layer depending on weather
  5. sun or warm hat depending on weather
  6. Lunch and Drink
  7. Full change of cloths left in your vehicle for afterwards


If bringing your own paddleboard please ensure you have a correctly fitted buoyance aid and quick release waist belt. If you do not have these you will be unable to participate in our trip.





Itinerary

Park at St George and Dragon pub in Wargrave (RG108HY) and catch the bus to Wokingham where a Wild Adventure guide will meet you.


We will walk to the River Thames (10 minuet walk) before getting on and starting out journey down stream.

This trip is about 10km and has 1 lock to portage


We will have a lunch stop on route and can take extra breaks as necessary during the trip.
