Hire our Adult Tandem Paddleboard for 2 hours. Suitable for up to 2 Adults.
Description
Head out along the River Leven and continue up to the foot of Lake Windermere enjoying the beautiful Lake District views as you paddle together on our tandem paddleboard!
New for 2025, this is our most adaptable board, with a weight capacity of 160kg. Red Paddle Co describe it as being perfect for heavy paddlers, tandem paddling and those with additional needs for hands-on assistance. With its versatile, inclusive paddler and passenger options, the 12'0" All Ride enables as broad a participation as possible." If you, or someone you know, would love to try paddleboarding but may need assistance then this is a great way to make paddleboarding accessible for all.
Your hire slot includes the use of the board, along with up to 2 height adjustable paddles, a coiled safety leash and buoyancy aids. Add on wetsuits for an extra £5pp at the time of booking or on the day of arrival.
We look after all our customers so even if you have been paddleboarding before, we will demonstrate a safety and basic skills briefing to all our hirers before you enter the water to ensure everyone is comfortable, safe, knows the area and is fully prepared for the activity.
All participants must be able to swim at least 50m. The hiring of our 12'0" paddleboard does not include an Instructor coming out with you onto the water - we do advise beginners to have a lesson before paddleboarding on their own. If you would like an Instructor session on individual boards please choose one of our groups, 1-to-1, or family lesson slots.
Requirements
What to bring
You will need to plan for all weathers and ultimately expect to get wet!
You may or may not fall into the water, but it is always better to be prepared.
Always bring a towel and a spare set of dry clothes and shoes. If you have your own wetsuit then you are welcome to bring it (particularly in the cooler months when the water temperature is a lot lower), or wear clothes suitable for being on the water, i.e., swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt, leggings, gym wear, waterproof, wind-shell jacket, etc. (Avoid denim, thick hoodies or jogging bottoms that will get heavy when wet.)
We have a small range of wetsuits available to hire at £5pp that you can add on to your booking, but please be aware they are subject to availability and exact sizes cannot be guaranteed on our busier days. Please always bring other suitable clothing to wear as a back-up option and we can refund your £5 on arrival if needs be.
If you are happy and warm enough in bare feet then that is absolutely fine, but footwear, such as swim shoes, crocs or old trainers, can be useful as our launch slipway and river/lake shores are quite rocky underfoot.
Additional items you may like to bring depending on the weather:
- warm hats
- extra layer
- hard shell waterproof to shield from wind/rain
- sun cap
- sun cream
- bottled water
- neoprene booties/gloves
- other items may also be required, although please note items such as sunglasses may be lost if you fall in the water!
Your valuables, such as car keys and phone, will obviously need to be protected, so a waterproof bag/phone case is good to bring along. If you do not have a bag then we can look after your items, but all valuables whether kept on land or on board are done so at your own risk.
