  • 2 days

  • Max 10 people

Come and join Way of the Wild and celebrate Litha - Summer Solstice in the ways of our ancestors.

Description

This relaxed celebration will take place in the ancient grounds of the atmospheric Sorbie Tower, a Scottish Tower house which is the ancestral seat of Clan Hannay, situated just outside Sorbie village, on the way to the coastal village of Garlieston in South Machars.

Whilst reconnecting with nature in this beautiful setting, we will begin the celebrations at 10:00am on the Saturday and continue throughout the day, welcoming Litha by watching the sunrise on the Sunday morning from the ancient Sorbie Motte, dating back to the 9th Century. During the celebrations throughout Saturday and Sunday there will be a number of activities for you to dip in and out of as you see fit, or enjoy all of them.

  1. Reflection space, midsummer folklore tales
  2. Midsummer flower wreath crafting
  3. Wholesome food cooked over the fire including wild food treats
  4. Deep breathwork, guided solstice sunrise meditation
  5. Solstice fire circle & ceremony
  6. Pewter spiral pendant casting

Optional Midsummers eve camping available to book separately

On the Saturday evening if you are camping, there will be the option to cook over the fire and share a meal together.

Food will be available and included as follows:

Saturday: Lunch included

Saturday evening meal: Bring your own food to cook over the fire and share if you are camping at Sorbie Tower

Sunday: Breakfast included

Come and join Way of the Wild and celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year and some Midsummer Magic.

What to bring

Warm clothing as we will be either outdoors or inside Sorbie Tower, both have the potential to be cold at this time of year. Outdoor clothing should be tough and comfortable. Please wear long sleeved tops and trousers to protect your arms and legs from bites and woodland flora.

Waterproof jacket and trousers, just in case. Jeans should not be worn, as they are slow to dry, clinging and cold.

Walking boots or other tough footwear, trainers are not really suitable for the woodland areas.

If you have the following then please do bring your own (items with a star can also be provided)

*Camping Mug

Water bottle

*Pair of gardening gloves or similar (Can provide if needed)
