A magical exploration of the enchanting world of Biofluorescence.
I am so excited to be able to finally share a world of wonder I have been exploring over the past year. 🤩
🌿Come with me and explore the enchanting world of the forest at night.
✨Biofluorescence is a magical process where living organisms absorb light and re-emit it as a different colour which can only be discovered under UV light.
🙏Join Way of the Wild for a guided walk to explore the wonders of this natural phenomenon.
Please note that there is a maximum of two individuals per torch space priced at £20. If there are more than two attending then you will need to book another torch space. (e.g if there are three attending you will then need to book two torch spaces)

take place outdoors, so please come prepared with the suggested kit mentioned in the equipment list.
Maximum of two individuals per torch space for safety and enjoyment reasons.
Minimum Age
8 years. (Anyone aged 17 or under must be accompanied by a paying legal guardian)
Fitness Level.
The walk will take place mainly on forest paths and will typically last for no longer than 90 minutes. The paths or ground maybe uneven and muddy.
Insurance
Way of the Wild has full public liability insurance, but the advice is for you to take out your own personal accident/cancellation insurance. If you already have insurance cover, check that it covers you for the activity you are undertaking.
Forest Experiences
Outdoor clothing should be tough and comfortable. Please wear long sleeved tops and trousers to protect your arms and legs from bites and woodland flora.
-Waterproof jacket and trousers, just in case. Jeans should not be worn, as they are slow to dry, clinging and cold. Natural colours or camouflage will give you a better chance of spotting wildlife.
-Walking boots or other tough footwear, trainers are not suitable.
If you have the following then please do bring your own (items with a star can also be provided)
Water bottle
*Insect repellent (Smidge is great)
*Small personal first aid kit/ouch pouch to deal with small cuts, there will be a large first aid kit on site.
*Camera + Notebook + pen (optional)
Headtorch/torch (UV torches will be provided)
*Whistle
Please note there are only two individuals per torch space.
I would suggest that even if it is warm you wear a cool long sleeve top and trousers, this is due to the risk of ticks in the area and horseflies are prevalent at certain times of the year.
We will meet in the main Car Park at Kilsture Forest on the road towards Garlieston, the B7004.
UV torches and protective eye wear will be issued to a maximum of two people per UV torch.
We will then head into the forest on the paths and begin to explore the magical world of Biofluorescence at night.
The walk will be a circular loop returning to the car park.
