For experienced paddlers only. This trip is for those with experience in kayaking - or have been on at least two previous sessions with us and have been deemed competent.
PLEASE NOTE: Participants will be required to provide further information on the booking questionnaire. If this is not completed at least 48 hours before, your booking will be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
Embark on a 3-hour guided kayak adventure along the scenic River Tweed! Starting at Stobo and ending in Peebles, this thrilling yet relaxing trip is perfect for those seeking to explore the river in a safe guided way.
You’ll paddle through gentle stretches of river, with exciting short rapids to navigate, while learning about the river's features from two experienced instructors.
Along the way, you’ll have time to stop for lunch and take in interesting sights, including a spooky disused train tunnel and a stunning historic castle.
This trip is ideal for groups of 3 to 10 participants. We provide all paddling equipment, including double sit-on-top kayaks.

For people who need to collect their car at the end of the day:
To get back to the start point after a day of paddling - participants can use the 91 (borders buses) from Peebles and get off at Stobo Kirk bus stop. Single fare cost roughly £3.
Alternatively we recommend participants who travel together in a group to bring two cars and park one at Peebles and one at the start point (both offer free car parking).
Requirements
This group session is for people with experience and are over the age of 12.
Please fill out the questionnaire after booking, expanding on your previous experience.
This trip requires at least 3 partcipants to run. If this is not met, the trip will be rescheduled or cancelled and a full refund provided.
What to bring
All equipment is provided. However we ask participants to bring the following:
- Towel
- Picnic lunch and drink
- Spare shoes and shoes that are okay to get wet
- Something to wear underneath a wetsuit; swimwear or lightweight sports clothing
- Spare dry clothing
- Any medication; if required
- A SENSE OF ADVENTURE!
