  • Description

If you’d like to explore a beautiful location in the heart of Scotland's "adventure coast" with guidance, develop open water skills/stroke technique as part of a bespoke coaching experience or simply enjoy a guided swim or snorkel under qualified safety cover, why not join me in and around the pristine waters of the Argyll Hope Spot - a unique marine protected scenic area and first of its kind in Scotland and the U.K. You can also be guided on the local Gaelic lore and culture of this coastline and try your hand at some Gaelic, if you wish!

For all abilities, from complete beginner open water swimmers to intermediate and advanced. These sessions are bespoke and tailored to the individual as one to one or small group.

The price for small group bookings is dependant on number of participants. This is automatically calculated at checkout.

PLEASE CLICK "MAKE SESSION PRIVATE FOR YOUR PARTY" TO ENSURE YOU SECURE THIS DAY AND TIME FOR YOU OR YOUR SMALL GROUP.

The available slots ie "8am" and "12pm" or "10am" and "1pm" represent morning and afternoon sessions. Session start times are flexible ie you might fancy a swim at sunrise. The session start time might also be dependent on local conditions such as tides depending on the location.

If you are no longer able to attend the session, another time/date can be arranged at no extra charge. Please email swimdanthemerman@gmail.com

If you want to cancel your session, you need to provide at least 48 hours notice by email in order to receive a refund. Please note that a 10% processing charge will be applied.

    Requirements

Sessions are tailored to the individual or small group. Participants should be able to swim.

    What to bring
    1. swimsuit or wetsuit
    2. swim shoes or socks (an old pair of trainers will do)
    3. neoprene socks/gloves
    4. plenty of loose, warm clothing layers
    5. water bottle
    6. snack
    7. towel/towelling robe
    8. something to stand on to keep your feet dry when getting changed
    9. swimming ear oil or ear plugs
    10. tow float (depending on the session this may not be required)
    11. swimming goggles
    12. bright coloured quality swim cap (these can be purchased at checkout)
    Itinerary

Sessions will typically last for an hour, depending on weather conditions and the individuals. The session will include a theoretical based beginning and what I call a "soft start transition" on dry land before anything between 15 to 45 minutes in the water (could be longer/shorter, depending on the swimmer and conditions) followed by an integrated recovery on dry land and plenary.
