Free: Welsh Learners Guided Walk

Join our Ranger and fellow Welsh learner, Marc Harpham, for a guided walk to the Nant y Gro Dams in the heart of the Elan Valley. This is a wonderful opportunity to practice your Welsh in a relaxed setting while discovering the rich history and natural beauty of the area.

🌿 Along the way, we’ll explore one of our Celtic Rainforests, enjoy a stunning viewpoint of Caban Coch Dam, and learn about the dramatic story of how the Nant y Gro Dams were destroyed by Barnes Wallis in preparation for the Dambusters Raids during World War II.

Ar hyd y ffordd, byddwn ni’n archwilio un o’n Coedwigoedd Glaw Celtaidd, yn mwynhau golygfa fendigedig o Argae Caban Coch, ac yn clywed stori ddramatig am sut cafodd Argaeau Nant y Gro eu dryllio gan Barnes Wallis wrth baratoi ar gyfer Cyrch Chwalwyr yr Argae yn ystod yr Ail Ryfel Byd.

To be fit and able enough to walk roughly 2.5km on a fairly gentle gradient (including steps and rocky ground).

Please bring waterproof clothing, suitable footwear, sunscreen, water and snacks

Meet the ranger at 10am at the Visitor Centre. Head out on a 2.5km guided walk and finish back at the Visitor Centre.
