    Paddle Explore Award 🏆

    8 hours / Full Day


    Have you already done your Start and Discover Award? This next one’s for you! Your Explore Award gives you ownership; allowing you to choose where you move next in the world of paddlesport. Working with your coach you will be able to develop a programme that suits what you need.


    What to expect

    You will learn to make confident choices. Above all you will Recognise your ability to independently paddle your chosen craft (SUP) in a sheltered water environment.

    Equipment: Kit can be provided or please bring your own

    3. You must also be a Paddle UK / British Canoeing member to be able to receive the certification, you can purchase it here. This is only a requirement if you want the certification.

    • Can I come solo? Absolutely

    • Minimum age requirements? Adults only - contact us for more info if you'd like to book an under 18 year old

    • Do I get a discount if I book as a group? Yes, please get in touch

    • Do I need to be a Paddle Up member? Nope

    • Do I need my own kit? No, we have kit for you to use


    Your SUP coaches will be India & Joshua. "Our aim is to inspire people of all ages and abilities to paddle, and enjoy our local waterways as much as we do".


    Being a Paddle UK Delivery Partner (formally known as British Canoeing), we can offer a number of British Canoeing Paddle Awards & Personal Performance Awards. The Paddle Awards are for those getting onto a paddle board for the first time, enabling you to feel confident in a sheltered water environment. Not sure if this is the right course for you? We deliver other Paddle Awards. There are three to choose from.

    We also deliver Personal Performance Awards including SUP Sheltered Water Award, SUP Safer course, & SUP Safer Tideway Training which allow you to develop your personal paddling and decision making skills in the craft and environment of your choice. Read our website to learn more.


    🩹 The quality of our local waterways is something to always be aware of and it’s important to do your own research regarding this. When paddle boarding with us we ask that you cover up any minor cuts and abrasions, and to wash once you are home if you fall/swim in the river, this is to reduce the risk of disease such as weil's disease. Paddle Up strongly recommends not to participate in paddling if I have any open wounds, and instead to reschedule. Read our FAQ's here.

    4. A confident swimmer
    5. Adults only, 18+ (contact us prior to booking if you'd like to book a place for an under 18 year old)

    O que levar

    What to wear: Wear weather appropriate clothing for SUP, quick drying active wear, wetsuit or drysuit. & shoes you don't mind getting wet.


    Remember to bring the following; Bottle of water, sun cream, hat, waterproofs, & any medication eg inhaler. And don't forget to pack a towel and a change of warm clothes, and plenty of food for the day!


    All SUP kit is available to use, but feel free to bring your own.

    Itinerário
    1. Arrive: 09:00 - 17:00
    2. If bringing your own kit, we'd suggest arriving around 08:30 to give time to set up
    3. This course is being run from Paxmead Riverside Base in Shepperton on the River Thames.
    4. There is parking on site, and access to toilets and hot showers
