Description

Porth Reservoir, set in a steep sided valley surrounded by woodlands just outside Newquay, is a beautiful destination for your next fishing escape.

This Cornish coarse fishery is very mature with overhanging treelines and large beds of lily pads and weed. It contains carp to 38lb and is home to some stunning fish such as ‘The Chestnut common’ which is a very sought after common carp closing in on 40lb in weight.

Porth currently has approximately 6 fish over 30lbs and there is a great head of back up 20’s with the majority of fish over 25lbs. There are bream to 12lbs, rudd to 2lb, roach to 2lb plus pike to 24lb and perch to 5lb. There is also a small number of tench but they are elusive.
Match and pleasure weights up to 50lbs are possible to pole and feeder and it can provide some lovely waggler fishing.
