  • A basic intro to SUP for complete beginners

    Description

If you're completely new to SUP, this is the perfect introduction to get you on the water and building confidence.

In this basic 1 hour introduction we'll start out paddling on our knees, and then aim to get everyone up onto their feet and enjoying paddling.

We'll teach you some basic paddle techniques to get you turning and controlling your board.

This session is very family friendly and suitable for children of 10 and over.

**Under 18’s – EACH child must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian for the full lesson on the water**

    Requirements

This lesson is aimed at complete beginners. You don't need to have tried SUP before, and it's ideally suited to both individuals and families.

A Perfect, gentle introduction to SUP which will show you the basics of standing and paddling.

Minimum age for children - 10

ALL under 18's must be accompanied by an adult on the water

    What to bring

You'll need to bring a pair of trainers or water-sports shoes to wear on your feet, along with your swimwear and a towel.

We provide wetsuits and buoyancy aids.

During the warmer months of summer you can wear shorts & t-shirts.

    Itinerary

Please check in at SUP Club HQ.

Once we've got you kitted up and ready to go we'll head over to the water.

After a quick 5 minute demo and safety brief we'll get straight onto the water and get paddling.

Depending on confidence and ability you can expect to get onto your feet and paddling, and learning some basic turns and control skills.

You should expect to be on the water and paddling for 50 minutes.

Oxford SUP are a very welcoming group. Had a great time paddling round. The wind on the day made it a challenging paddle but that just added to the fun.
