COAST is delighted to be working with Dr Karen Boswarva from Haven Bay Environmental in Orkney to offer a new online Arran Specific Marine ID course.
Karen is a highly skilled marine scientist with a diverse background spanning 2 decades covering; marine robotics and seabed mapping to surveying, recording and delivering citizen science training.
This fully funded course will explore habitats and marine life specific to Arran, including how to find and ID them and the roles they play for the marine environment.
It will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams on three Tuesday evenings throughout February. Each week will build on the last, so ideally participants would attend all sessions. But if this isnt possible, join where you can.

Session 1 – Tuesday 10th Feb – 6-8.30pm
Session 2 – Tuesday 17th Feb – 6-8.30pm
Session 3 – Tuesday 24th Feb – 6-8.30pm
For those who can attend - there are 30 spots for an optional in-person practical day session on Arran’s shoreline (exact location TBC) on Monday 16th March, sign-up's for this will be taken on completion of the online sessions.
