British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award

The British Canoeing Sea Kayak Award is perfect for paddlers looking to endorse their skills to paddle safely on the sea. The award is run as a 2 day course, designed to introduce sea paddling or help you on your journey to coastal or advanced sea environments.

The Sea Kayak Award is run in winds of up to Force 3 and Tidal current of 1 Knot. At Fore Adventure we run this in sea kayaks or as a bespoke option in sit on top kayaks.

Personal paddling negotiating confined spaces, forward paddling, changing and maintaining direction form part of the award. The sea kayak award also focuses on developing an understanding of the coastal environment and how we make dynamic decisions on the sea.

The sea kayak award is a great way to monitor your progress in paddlesport.

2. Suitable for age 16+.
3. Under 18s need to be accompanied.
4. Please arrive in swimwear!

We supply;

1. wetsuits (sizes from xxs - xxl)
2. cags, helmets, buoyancy aids
3. equipment

You will need to bring;

1. footwear (old trainers or aqua shoes are fine).
2. A base layer must be worn under the long john wetsuit (manmade fabrics are best)
3. bathing suits / shorts must be worn under wetsuit
4. If you would prefer to bring your own wetsuits then please do so.
