Explore Stanley and the surrounding beauty spots in the Falkland Islands on our guided tour - 'Surrounding Stanley - Private Tour'. With an experienced guide by your side, you'll get to discover some of the most breath-taking sights in this stunning archipelago including Yorke Bay, Gypsy Cove and Cape Pembroke Lighthouse, and will get a personal insight into living in the Falkland Islands, and life in Stanley. This tour includes so much; from a hike through the sand dunes where you will visit Yorke Bay's white sands and spend time observing the Gentoo Penguins, to a scenic and historic exploration of Cape Pembroke, you will not be short of amazing experiences! Your tour will finish with a guided highlights tour of our beautiful and unique little city. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will provide fascinating insights into history, culture and wildlife – with plenty of time for taking pictures too! Join us at Falklands Outdoors for about 3.5 hours as we explore these captivating islands.

    Requirements

You must be able to walk over uneven ground and through sand dunes for an extended period, approximately 600meters. This tour is not appropriate for wheelchair users, or others with mobility issues. The beach is situated away from the car, through sand dunes.

    What to bring

The weather in the Falklands is often challenging. We recommend you bring with you some warm clothing with windproof and waterproof layers. Ideally some robust footwear as this tour does involve walking over uneven ground.

    Itinerary

We will head out of Stanley on a short drive to visit the Magellanic Penguins of Gypsy Cove. This can be a busy tourist attraction but even if you don't like the crowds the view is spectacular and you should get your first sight of some Falklands penguins!

From there we will have a short drive before a hike through some sand dunes to experience the larger and even more specular beach Yorke Bay and visit the breeding colony of Gentoo Penguins. If you are lucky there are often sealions, dolphins and even king penguins visiting throughout the summer.

Retracing our steps back to the vehicle, we have a five minute drive before your guide will show you some of the historical sites in the area of Cape Pembroke lighthouse, while enjoying a hot drink and home made snack.

From there it is back to Stanley for personal guided tour of the history, culture and landmarks of this amazing little city!

At the end of the tour your guide will drop you off wherever you would like in Stanley and would be happy to recommend a restaurant, café or pub.
