Elan Valley Visitor Centre

Gorgeous weather mid July in Summer 2026 that I'm sure we'll be talking about in years to come!

Great base to park up from and go for a bike ride around the reservoir. Amazing scenery and excellent path for walking or cycling the perimeter of the water. Would return and extend the route I took or would take an alternative one next time.

It was a great experience. Lovely place. There were 6 Dams to see and lovely tracking. The views are mind blowing. It gives you vibe of swizerland. Staff at the centre is very nice. Lunch will close at 3.00PM .
Enough parking.
Parking is available at all the dams if you don’t want to walk or trek.

A place to visit if you are in the area. The Visitor Centre and shop are free to enter. £3 to park your car in any of the Elan Valley Carparks all day. Friendly and helpful staff. I bought all my souvenirs from here, not overpriced like some places I have visited. A member of staff gave me a map of he dams, my main purpose for my visit, he explained how to reach them and drew in the best viewpoints. I did manage to visit all the dams, drove over two of them. I was lucky with the weather and not too many people about.
Definitely worth another visit when I come back to Wales.
