Taster Canoe Session

Taster Paddling session in an open Canoe with Whoosh Explore Canoe Club. Paddle on the River Stort and explore the River Stort in our open boats.

Our Open Canoes have seats and are suitable for two paddlers, but can also be paddled as a single, or tandem crew with a young paddler.

We have a there and back paddle so this paddle is ideal for paddlers looking at an introduction to paddling as a family.

Canoes have wooden seats and are normally paddled with a single bladed paddle.

You will have a short introduction into paddling and then are free to explore the local river environment between Sawbridgeworth and Tednamebury Locks.

There will be lifting and carrying of boats and paddling equipment as part of the activity. We ask participants to wipe down equipment after use. (please feel free to bring wipes to satisfy yourself that equipment is safely clean before use. )

Please bring a change of clothing for after the activity, waterproofs and trainers or neoprene water shoes.

A club paddling session on the River. For experienced paddlers a longer paddle on the river can be arranged depending on the skills and abilities of the paddlers on session.
