Morag is a fantastic guide. We had a beautiful walk with such fantastic views. Me and my dad have been walking these cliffs for 20 years and never knew or understood the history and geology to the landscape until now! Now I can appreciate and understand the structures and the reasons for such a beautiful coastline. We are definitely excited to go on more walks with Morag when they become available. I would highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates the Angus coast scenery!

Highly recommend Morag Smiths tour of the Arbroath Cliffs. As a highly experienced geologist and local she is well placed to guide this tour and skilfully adapts her style to the knowledge level and interests of the group. The walk is an easy pace with lots of variety and a wealth of information about the geology and human history of the cliffs. She has a lovely engagement style and the stop for coffee and delicious brownies were very much appreciated. Loved hearing her talk about the different pebbles she’d brought to further deepen our understanding. A thoroughly enjoyable day out . Highly recommend to both visitors to Arbroath and locals - you’ll learn loads and have a fun couple of hours.

We really enjoyed our walk with Morag. We are both geologists ourselves, so we are always keen to learn about the geology of the places we visit. Stories of Stone is a very pleasant and gentle walk along the picturesque seaside at the Arbroath Cliffs, with great company and great information. AND, Morag introduced us to Tunnack's Tea Cakes :) Bonus!

Why just go for a walk, when you can walk and learn!

What a fantastic experience! We were looking for things to do while on holiday for a few days in this area and came across the Stories of Stone website. Thought it sounded a bit different, so went for it. Morag is an excellent guide and brings everything to life without talking down to you, though her knowledge is immense. We had no prior knowledge or experience of geology, just a mild interest. We were fascinated by all she told us and learnt so much. We're now looking at stones and buildings in a new light 😄. Highly recommended. P.s. the chocolate brownies she gives you at break time [locally made] are to die for 👍👍.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a guided geological tour of Arbroath's stunning shoreline.  Our guide masterfully blended the history of Arbroath with the geological formations, making the experience both scientifically and historically educational. Our guide also shared her personal anecdotes about growing up in Arbroath and her memories of fearlessly playing on the cliffs.  Her stories added a heartfelt touch.  The tour included a delightful picnic, served amidst the breathtaking scenery.  It was a lovely way to relax, reflect and enjoy the moment.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Arbroath who wants to delve in its unique geology and history, all while enjoying warm hospitality and amazing views.  I've walked the beach path on previous visits to Arbroath, but this was by far my most memorable hike.
