Snowsport Torfaen

Snowsport Torfaen is one of the most established and respected ski and board centres in Wales and the United Kingdom and has been the training ground for many skiers, ski teachers and ski racers for 50 years. At just over 250m long and 20m wide it is the largest outdoor artificial slope in Wales.

There is a main slope with bumps run for the adventurous, ramps and rails for free-riders and boarders, a large, designated beginners' slope and a gentle learning section for skiers and boarders to develop control before they venture higher up the slope. A button lift serves the entire slope which after learning basic control everyone can use. An attractive wooden log cabin houses a well-stocked ski and board equipment room, a comfortable rest area with indoor spectator viewing, toilets and changing area.

We cater for all abilities of skier and boarder, from beginner to expert and freestyle and Ringo tubing. There are Open Practice sessions and ski / board lessons for adults and for children during the week and weekend. Every school holiday we offer children’s sessions each afternoon. Schools, youth groups and birthday parties are catered for with instruction, practice and tubing during the weekdays.

There is a vibrant ski racing club, a family orientated club and a ski instructor training programme based at the Centre. We also provide training and team building to business and company groups which focuses on developing self awareness, group and partnership skills and mindful learning.

All our activities are outdoors come sun or rain and we remain open when it's snowing providing us with the real stuff! Snowsports are fantastic for learning new skills, exercising without knowing you are and a great way of socialising and companionship with like-minded active, outdoor types.
