  • Description

Explore the upper Stour with a self-guided Paddle'n'Pub trip.

Starting from our base in Sudbury, your journey will take you through two beautiful miles of tranquil countryside to The Henny Swan where you'll find a great menu and selection of refreshments to enjoy (charged locally) before heading back upriver to return your kit. Expect 60-75 mins paddle time each way. Please try to pre-book your table at Henny to avoid disappointment.

This route includes 1 portage at Cornard Lock where you'll need to take your boat out of the water and around the lock by crossing a 15 meter length of grass before re-entering.

Our traditional 'open canoes' are stable and easy to paddle, they have two participant seats with space for two child passengers on the floor in the middle.

    Requirements

Participating Paddlers must e able to swim at east 50m unaided.

We suggest 'Participating Paddlers' are aged 14+ and 'active'.

Child Passengers should be supervised at 1:1 ratio.
