Description
The RYA Youth Sailing Scheme provides an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. Each certified course provides an opportunity to recognise your achievements!
During this course you will be able to rig and launch your boat and sail in any direction. Completing this course, your skills and knowledge mean that you can regard yourself as a sailor, not a beginner!
Key Learning Points:
- Demonstrate the principles of the five essentials
- Sail on all points of sailing on a triangular course
- Understand a racing course and starting procedure
Our experienced instructors will be with you every step of the way, offering clear instruction, guidance and encouragement.
Please Note: Participants age for the RYA Stage 3 course is 8-16 years old.
Safety Notice:
Safety is our number one priority. In the event of poor weather conditions, for example; strong winds or thunder and lightning, we reserve the right to restrict water access to particular user groups, restrict the area available for activities, or close the lake. We will endeavour to give advance notice whenever possible, however, some decisions need to be made at short notice.
In the case where the lake is needed to be closed, we will endeavour to notify all customers to offer the opportunity to reschedule their session or receive a refund. We will also ensure the message is shared on the Llys Y Fran website and social media pages.
Requirements
Before travelling to Llys Y Fran, we ask that you follow the current government advice and do not travel if you have any of the following symptoms:

To ensure the safety of our customers and staff we ask you to sign a health declaration confirming you are free of symptoms.
