    Over this one day course is a great way to spend a day afloat our powerboat and get children interested in boating. Our experienced instructors will help develop some basic skills for our boating adventurous.


    The RYA Level 1 Start Powerboating provides a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. It covers boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment.

    Our experienced instructors will be with you every step of the way, offering clear instruction, guidance and encouragement.


    Please Note: Participants age for the RYA Powerboat Level 1 course is 8-12 years old.


    Safety Notice:


    Safety is our number one priority. In the event of poor weather conditions, for example; strong winds or thunder and lightning, we reserve the right to restrict water access to particular user groups, restrict the area available for activities, or close the lake. We will endeavour to give advance notice whenever possible, however, some decisions need to be made at short notice.


    In the case where the lake is needed to be closed, we will endeavour to notify all customers to offer the opportunity to reschedule their session or receive a refund. We will also ensure the message is shared on the Llys Y Fran website and social media pages.


    Requirements

    Before travelling to Llys y Fran, we ask that you follow the current government advice and do not travel if you have any of the following symptoms:


    1. A high temperature: this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature).


    1. A new, continuous cough: this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).


    1. A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste: this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.


    To ensure the safety of our customers and staff we ask you to sign a health declaration confirming you are free of symptoms.


    What to bring

    We have changing facilities with warm showers and toilets. Lockers are available with a refundable £1.00.


    As part of your course, you will be provided with a buoyancy aid. We recommend you bring with you:


    1. Waterproof Clothing.
    2. Change of clothes.
    3. Towel.
    4. Sun cream.
    5. Bottle of water.
    6. Closed toe footwear.


    Please Note: Closed toe shoes are compulsory for water activities and must be worn at all times. Crocs and sliders are not deemed suitable.
