  • Description

Launch your own paddle craft and take your adventure on to the water. Explore the Llyn Brenig and see its spectacular scenery and wildlife from a different perspective. After a safety briefing and competency test you can set off on your journey.

Pricing is based per craft, not per adult. [note that when booking, the system assumes 1 adult = 1 craft]. The number of persons that can take part per craft is dependant on the craft capacity. For example, a two person kayak means only two people can take part in the activity or a paddle board is for one person only.

We reserve the right to withdraw access to the water if the conditions are not suitable or unsafe. Self launch permitted is limited to paddle boards, kayaks and canoes.

All craft must pass a safety and biosecurity check. Failure to bring a craft suitable for the conditions, or contaminated with material which may risk the biosecurity of the site will be refused access.

Upon arrival to Llyn Brenig you will need to sign in at our Activity Hub on the ground floor. Please ensure all consent forms have been signed before your arrival.

6 to 7 Years Old: Can be on a craft but must be accompanied on the same craft with another paddler aged over 16. A guardian (18+) must be onsite and supervising from either the water or from the bank.

8 to 13 Years Old: Can paddle their own craft with someone over 16 supervising them, but they must also be on the water with a craft. A guardian (18+) must be onsite and supervising either from the water or from the bank.

14 to 17 Years Old: Can paddle their own craft on the water with a guardian (18+) supervising from the water or from the bank.

18+: Can use any craft on the water in line with our T&C’s.

Please be advised dogs are not permitted in or on the lake under any circumstances. Dogs must always remain on a lead when on site.

    Requirements

3rd Party Public Liability Insurance. This must cover the type of craft you are bringing with you. (Note some insurance policies do not cover all types of paddle craft.)

Wearing a wetsuit and buoyancy aid is mandatory whilst using any craft on the water. All equipment brought to site must be well maintained.

Users must ensure they have an appropriate paddle and personal protective equipment. We recommend the following for own buoyancy aids:

    1. 50 PFD Level Certified Buoyancy Aid for Adults.
    2. 70 PFD Level Certified Buoyancy Aid for Juniors.
    3. No visible damages (Rips, tears, frayed stitching, inherent buoyancy).

If we do not deem your equipment to be safe, or if you do not have the correct safety wear, you will be provided the option to hire our own equipment.

All self launch crafts must be clean before coming on site. We cannot wash down your equipment on site due to the risk of contamination. For more information, please visit:
