Spooky Dam Open Day 1pm to 4pm (30 minute sessions):
Take a walk through Penbont Woods and enter Pen Y Garreg Dam - if you dare!
Test your bravery inside the dam before emerging onto the central platform and claim your Halloween prize (prize is for under 18s only). Continue your journey back through the dam, through the woods and back to your car. Watch out for surprises along the way.
Disclaimer: The dam will be decorated and a bit spookier than usual! This may involve some spooky noises and things that may make you jump. Costumes are optional but also encouraged!
Halloween Disco 4:30pm to 6:30pm (2hours):
Top off your Halloween experience at the Elan Valley by coming to our Halloween Disco back at the Visitor Centre once you have been through Pen Y Garreg Dam. Get ready for a frightfully fun time with a mixture of games, crafts and tasty treats!
Games & Craft Activities include:
🎯 Poke a Pumpkin
🍏 Apple Bobbing
🧙 Peek-a-Boo or Guess Who?
🎨 Pumpkin Crafts
🎳 Ghostly Skittles
🔍 Indoor Scavenger Hunt
🎶 Enjoy music, delicious food, and plenty of Halloween cheer!
Arrive at Penbont car park and follow the instructions to walk to the dam within your chosen slot.
Walk though Pen y Garreg dam at your own pace to the central tower where under 18s can collect a Halloween treat, then continue your journey through the dam, down through the woodlands and back to your car. Head to the Visitor Centre afterwards for the Disco where there will be music, games and lots of fun.

Didn't stay there long as I was riding my bike, but the cafe and visitor centre were very good. Free parking for 60mins, food was varied and the cakes were delicious. A good place to stop if you're in the area.
