Lose The Stabilisers 2023

  • biking

  • 30 mins

  • Max 1 person

One to one, half-hour sessions to teach your child to ride without stabilisers.

Description

One to one, half-hour sessions to teach your child to ride without stabilisers. Led by our experienced coaches to a tried and tested method.

We recommend you book 2 or 3 weekly sessions. Most children are riding in this time, and if they learn in the first session then the remaining time can be used to build confidence.

A strict 72-hour cancellation policy is in operation.

We run through all weathers (except extreme weather, e.g. very strong winds).

Requirements

We encourage everyone to ride. If you wish to discuss your child's additional needs please contact us.

What to bring

Your child will need

  1. bike*
  2. helmet*
  3. suitable clothes for the weather

*we can hire a bike for £5 and a helmet for £1

Itinerary

We use the tarmacked area behind the hub- a quiet area, with a flat, smooth surface.

We generally take the stabilisers and pedals off the bike, and practice balancing. When the child is ready we add pedals...and the child rides!

Adults... what to do? Most people booking this have tried to teach their child, but one party ends up getting cross: we have all been there! You might like to stay and watch or you are welcome to go and have an ice cream or cup of tea.

If you are late for a session we will be unable to give you extra time after the booked session is due to finish.

Fantastic lesson for my 3 year old. My son learnt so much in 30 minutes and was able to ride his bike with no stabilisers by the end of his first lesson. Gaina was a great teacher!
