    Build upon your sailing skills with Southampton Water Activities Centre!

    RYA Stage 2 is designed to develop the skills needed to sail around a course and understand the basic principles needed to become a confident sailor

    Our Active Sail Improver course is a progression of the skills and understanding gained from Stage 1, and works towards developing confidence and independence afloat.

    Please note that refunds will not be issued if you pay with a card and later wish to pay with childcare vouchers

    This course is ideal for children aged 8 -16 years with RYA Stage 1.

    Please can you ensure the Childs Name and Course dates are referenced with payments so we can match payments to the individual participant.

    Once you have actioned the payment please can you email – so we can make a note of the payment date in order to inform our finance team of your payment so we can ensure your course is fully paid for.

    What to bring
    What to bring


    Participants should bring a packed lunch, please note that we do not offer fridge or microwave facilities, due to our COVID Secure Measures.


    Hot drinks and water are available from the Centre, but ensure your children have enough water to keep them hydrated throughout the day.


    Please note we do not keep children's valuables on site. We suggest leaving expensive valuables at home.

    Clothing List

    We will provide all specialist equipment such as buoyancy aids, wetsuits and waterproofs.

    We advise you bring:

    1. Closed toe footwear
    2. Warm layers would be useful such as a fleece or jumper. It can be much cooler on the water.
    3. Woolly hat / Sun hat
    4. Change of clothes - other than the ones you will wear afloat
    5. Towel, Sun Glasses & security strap, sun screen.
