    Description

Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of London's waterways with our 2-3hr High Tide Paddle to Richmond.

This is a session for intermediate paddlers who are comfortable on a board and would like to paddle with less restrictions and a bit further than our standard SUP trips.

This trip is a part of our 360 SUP Club trips and Events. Although you can join as a non member!

This journey kicks off from our main base in Kew Bridge and spans approximately 3 hours (usually including a pub stop. The route to Richmond brims with charm and history. As you paddle along, the bustle of the city gives way to a peaceful, idyllic setting – pristine landscapes, graceful waterfowl, and impressive historic architecture, offering plenty of opportunities to truly connect with nature and boost your photography skills.

This is an activity subject to weather conditions and tidal predictions. We recommend all participants joining as a non member should be able to paddle independently without instruction. You should be confident to control the board efficiently and self rescue when necessary. Feel free to get in touch for more info!

    Requirements

You should be able to paddle independently without instruction. You should be confident to control the board efficiently and self rescue when necessary.

    What to bring

    What to wear/bring?

Remember to check weather forecast and dress accordingly.

    In warm weather (spring/summer):

    1. gym/jogging type quick drying 'technical' clothing
    2. footwear is essential - neoprene/water shoes are best, if not a spare pair of trainers or old sandals (with a heel strap) will do. Your feet will get wet! NO FLIP FLOPS (you may lose them in the water and the river mud)
    3. change of clothes and a towel just in case you take a little dip during your SUP lesson
    4. extra layers to put on after the activity (exercise makes us feel a bit chilly after)
    5. waterproof case for your phone if you are planning to take it on water with you
    6. retainers for your glasses/sunglasses (don't lose them!)
    7. wetsuits are available on site if required
    8. sunscreen is a MUST in the summer even on an overcast day.
    9. make sure you arrive HYDRATED to your session (please start drinking water 1- 2 hrs before your session and drink plenty of water!)

Where can I leave my belongings?

There are no individual lockers on site but personal belongings (in a bag) can be left in the arches which will be locked for the duration.

    Itinerary

This journey kicks off from our main base in Kew Bridge and spans approximately 3 hours (usually including a pub stop.

Glide smoothly over the tranquil, high tide waters, feel the fresh wind, and marvel at the breathtaking views all around.

We had a fun trip along the Brent Lea onto the Grand Union Canal. We hired the kayak for two hours but actually, there isn't too far you can travel between locks so an hour would have been enough. We did spot a terrapin ...
