What's involved:
Each week depending on program at the lake we will start with some foundation technique and drills and progresses to some fun competitive races including sprints, technical races, and 3 km or 5 km time trails. Areas of training that we will cover include equipment, race formats, efficient paddling, race turns, board control and handling, mass stars, and drafting. On some weeks we venture to local slow moving rivers or canals to do some longer-distance paddles between 8 -10km
This is a great way to improve SUP fitness or cross-train for other sports. Most of all we are about encouraging each other with inclusive fun sessions aimed at promoting a bit of friendly competition also setting some personal SUP goals in a supportive environment.
The central component of paddle boarding is simply to have fun. Most of the people who attend love race training as it enables them to spend a day with people who are just as excited about SUP as they are!
And we sometimes manage a social afterwards š¹
Ready, Set, Paddle! :)
