Description
Youth and Adult SUP Race Workshop: This coached half day is a great introduction into SUP racing chance to progress in to competing at a junior Beginner/level and progress onto regional and national GB SUP Events.
Who is this session suitable for?
The SUP Youth & Adult Race Workshop open to anyone aged over 10 years
Must be a self-proficient paddler (not a complete novice) and are able to self-rescue get back on the board in deep water unassisted. Have the makings of an efficient forward paddle and be able to turn using sweep or cross deck strokes.
Must be able to swim.
If you are completely new to paddleboarding we have some SUP Club 10-16 years before workshops day where you can work on some skills and drills. You can also book an Intro/ Improver to SUP session which will help give you the skills and confidence to make the most of the race training days. Drop us a message if you would like to ask any questions.
All under 18's must have parent or legal guardian consent before taking part in activity and must stay on site during session.
How much does it cost?
- £40 adults/£30 kids for the Workshop Half Day
- This price includes water fees, parking, all SUP’s and safety equipment, Some great tuition from Northern SUP Race Club BSUPA and Paddle UK Race coaches.

We encourage team members to bring any personal race specific paddle boards and paddles for the day if you own them, but we also supply paddle boards, paddles, buoyancy aids if you don’t have your own.

Format for the day?
9:30am
10am Welcome Brief Team Building Games
10:30 “Be Strong” Strength, Stamina and Mobility (outside)
11:am Paddling for Performance
11:30 am -12:30am Paddle Observation, Skills & Drills with feedback.
12:30-1pm Wash up and Lunch Break
What will be provided?
- Quality wetsuits if needed
- Neoprene tops (in warm weather)
- Windproof jackets (in cold weather)
- Hot/cold drinks & biscuits
- Shower and changing facilities
- Boards, Paddle, Buoyancy aids
What do you need to bring?
Range of clothing for the training is recommended from wetsuits/leggings and tops to keep you warm/cool depending on weather, We have a range of long John wetsuits and tops if you need to borrow extra kit.
- Swimwear, shorts, vest or wicking material sports top
- Shoes/Crocs for walking around the carpark
- Suncream and sunhat/ warm hat depending on weather
- Water bottle/ Packed lunch
- Towel/Dry Robe/Warm Jacket
- Any personal medications you may need e.g. inhalers
- Your own wetsuit if you have one probably not needed
