  • Description

These are our regular 2 hour kids club surfing lessons subsidised for local children.

This session is open to young people who attend The Dutchess High School, Berwick Academy or a primary/middle feeder for these schools. We may ask to see proof of primary residence as these sessions are subsidised for residents only - please get in touch if you are unsure if your child qualifies.

To join kids surf club the children must have had at least one beginner lesson with us or have some surfing experience. We can cater from beginners up to experienced surfers in these sessions.

To book a block of 4 sessions please contact us on 07962166486 for block booking discount, or purchase our locals only holiday pass.

Locals only sessions exist so local groms aren’t priced out of the Sea during school holidays.

This is absolutely not an encouragement of localism in surfing. That’s not what we stand for in North Northumberland. We appreciate our area, how lucky we are to live in it and welcome visitors with open arms. Our line ups are some of the most welcoming and inclusive we have seen anywhere in the world.

These sessions are an acknowledgment of the fact that living in a rural area and holiday hotspot, as beautiful it may be, does come with its challenges. House prices, mortgages and rent are hugely inflated.

Keeping children active and engaged is also a challenge. There are less opportunities here than close to the cities, and many of the activities that are available cost too much to be viable on a regular basis.

Our standard prices are competitive and equitable. We charge the same as our competitors yet are the only surf school in the county who run a reduced instructor ratio of 1 instructor to max 6 surfers. It’s the price we need to charge for our business to be viable.

However, due to the current cost of living crisis we know that our holiday sessions are not accessible for some locals. We believe that learning about the Sea and how to enjoy it safely is so important, particularly for the children of coastal communities. So this season we will be offering subsidised locals only sessions for local children throughout the holidays.

We can cater from complete beginners up to advanced rippers as we have multiple instructors to cater to differing experience levels.

Our lessons take place on the beautiful Bamburgh Beach. We also have the options of Seahouses and Beadnell if the surf is more suitable at either of those locations. If our lesson location moves from Bamburgh we will be in touch, if we do not contact please go to Bamburgh for the lesson start time.

Our lessons will run if the surf/weather conditions are safe. If the surf is flat we will run either a paddle skills and games, lifeguard skills or surf skate session. However, there are occasions where the conditions may not be safe. In the unfortunate event of this happening we will call the number provided by the person who made the booking, as soon as possible, to give the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund. If we do not contact you then the conditions are safe so the lesson will go ahead as planned.
