This is a booking for 3 x 2 hr after-school sailing sessions running Friday 1.30-3.30 pm. The price is £60 for a block of three 2 hr sessions.
Block A. Book Friday 9th May for sessions on the 9th, 16th and 23rd May 2025
Block B. Book Friday 30th May for sessions on the 30th May, 6th and 13th June 2025
Block C. Book Friday 20th June for sessions on the 20th and 27th June and 4th July 2025
Each block will allow beginners to join but will make sure that improvers keep making good progress. Sailing is friendly and fun, and we use games and challenges to build skills, confidence and teamwork.
Beginners Sailing: You will learn how to steer a sailing boat, become familiar with the movement of a ‘dinghy’ (small sailing boat) in gentle waves, and you will begin to understand how to use the natural power of the wind to move across the water.
Improvers Sailing: Learn more about the parts of a sailing boat and how they work. You will develop your ability to launch your boat into the water and bring it safely back on shore. You will practice some important knots that sailors tie and learn more about how the ropes control the sails to help you move faster or slower.
Improvers Plus: There will be more to understand about turning your boat through the wind. You will understand better how to keep your boat balanced when the wind fills the sails and your dinghy begins to move faster, and you will become more confident about steering your boat and avoiding collisions.
