The gentle flow of the river makes it ideal for paddlers of all levels, whether you're an experienced SUP enthusiast or just getting started.
The river winds its way through a series of picturesque spots, from the lush green landscapes of Hamble Country Park to the bustling harbors and hidden coves. You'll pass by quaint riverside pubs and peaceful nature reserves, all while soaking in the serene atmosphere. With each stroke, the calming rhythm of the water and the stunning views will make you feel as though you’ve discovered a hidden gem of the Hampshire coastline.
Along the way, you may spot local wildlife, including swans, ducks, and the occasional heron, all adding to the peaceful charm of this wonderful river. The River Hamble offers an unforgettable adventure, perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature.
Join us for an unforgettable two-day SUP adventure on the beautiful River Hamble, taking place on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th April, from 10am to 3pm each day!
We’ll launch from the scenic Hamble Country Park carpark (SO31 1BH). Please note, there's a parking fee of £9.50 for the whole day, and the park is equipped with toilets and a café. The car park has auto number plate recognition, so no hassle when you arrive. From the carpark, it’s a short 5-minute walk through the trees, down a set of steps, and onto the beach – perfect for an easy start to the day.
Day One: We’ll paddle up river, taking in the stunning scenery and spotting all the amazing bird life, towards the historic Horse & Jockey pub for a relaxing lunch stop. Enjoy great food and drinks before heading back down the river for a leisurely return paddle.
Day Two: Our adventure continues with a visit to Floaters, our favourite boat café, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast roll and a must-try homemade brownie! After refuelling, we’ll paddle further up the river to the Hidden Tap at Botley Microbrewery, only accessible at high tide. Here, you can ring the bell to sample some refreshing craft beers or ciders right on the water, all while relaxing on your board!
This SUP tour promises stunning views, good food, and great company. Don't miss out – it's the perfect way to explore the River Hamble! We will stay at stunning Macdonald Botley Park Hotel & Spa . Breakfast included . You can hire boards at £10pp per day . (These will be RED RIDE 10.6 or 10.8 boards).
* Each paddle route is approx 5-6 miles long. Extra cost maybe car parking, cafes and pub lunch if we decide to do so .
