Must be over 16 years old

Course runs 9am to 5pm

The aim of this powerboat course is to provide a short practical introduction to boat handling and safety on powerboats being used on all Irish waters. The course lasts 7 hours, there is no requirement for previous experience.

3. Basic boat handling
4. Planing and manoeuvring on the plane
5. Leaving and coming alongside
6. Securing to a mooring
7. Anchoring
8. Man Overboard
9. Rules of the Road
10. Regulations
11. Safety on board
12. Rope work
13. Towing
14. Weather
15. Navigation & Pilotage
16. Coastal Knowledge

All practical elements are performed as a crew member on a powerboat.
