    Our most popular trip the Graiguenamanagh Loop gives you a fully experience of Kayaking or Canoeing taking in some stunning Flatwater sections through the Wooded Barrow Valley whilst stepping back in time to experience a ride in the 230+ year old lock system and the thrill of paddling down the weirs and rapids of the Barrow!!

    This is a perfect trip for anyone new to kayaking or canoeing. The trip is at a relaxed pace and will allow you time to soak it all in.

    The trip is suitable for total beginners or experienced paddlers there will be something for everyone.

    Please note for family bookings we can only cater for children from 5 years and up. Children between the ages of 5 and 9 will generally always go in a double Canadian canoe with a parent. Children from 10 years and up can go in a single kayak. All under 16 year olds must be accompanied by at least 1 adult to partake in the activity.

    Requirements
    1. Participants must be over 5 years old to partake in our activities
    2. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
    3. Participants should be comfortable in water when wearing a personal flotation device/Life-jacket/Buoyancy Aid
    4. Participants should be fit and healthy to participate in a physical activity
    5. Participants will have to sign a waiver on registering on the day of their activity


    What to bring

    Please be sure to bring the following:

    1. Foot wear you dont mind getting wet (Runners or Sandles are fine)
    2. Swimwear
    3. Shorts/T-shirt you dont mind getting wet (You might not want to wear a wetsuit on a warm day)
    4. A bottle of water
    5. A towel for after
    6. Suncream
    7. If you have your own wetsuit bring it along
    8. Any medication you might need




    Itinerary

    Once you meet your guide they will get you signed in and give you a brief over view of the day. They will then give you and fit you with all the safety equipment and give you a introduction to paddle sports and safety briefing before getting on the water.

    Once on the water we will paddle up the river to an old lock system we will enter the lock and continue along a section of canal before looping back and returning via some nice weirs and rapids.

    Finishing back where we started in Graiguenamanagh.
