Description
Level up to moving water and join us on the River Hamble & Botley Falls sheltered water tour with coaching
This 90 Min - 2 hour guided tour sets off from YMCA Fairthorne Manor, where you'll find car parking, pontoon launch just a short walk away along with a hose to rinse down your board afterwards!
We’ll head right onto very sheltered water allowing you to get over initial wobbles, building confidence and to get a feel for the river flow - paddling through the rolling countryside, past some local gardens (Beware the Crocodile!) then stopping at Botley Waterfall for some photo opportunities.
Then return back to our launch point, If we still have the time and energy and the tide is in our favour, then there is the option to paddle out to where the water widens becoming sheltered water with a faster flow.
This tour is perfect for paddlers who can already paddle, have had a lesson or joined a tour and are looking to get back on the water for the new season and gain confidence and experience for independent paddling and wider sheltered waterways with flow and motion, it is an experience that will help improve your technique and make great memories.
Board Hire is available on the next page for booking.
You will be expected to be able to carry your board, self-launch from a pontoon, turn, stop, stand up paddle and self rescue with no support for this tour.
If you are not quite there yet, please try an lesson instead. If you feel the need to paddle on your knees for a break though, that is completely fine.
Please note that due to limited time availability; bookings are on a first come first serve basis so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible!
