Raise your paddle game for 2023!
Description
Take your paddle skills to the next level with our Thames Valley Tour with Coaching!
This 3hr hour guided tour sets off from Wokingham Waterside Centre (Optional Park-Run is here for the runners at 9am but get there early to secure parking!) There is free on the road car parking, with the river just a short walk across the green and picnic area.
We'll head right onto the Thames and take in some beautiful canal side properties, rural countryside and navigate a Lock, stopping at Sonning's The Coppa Club for some refreshments. If we make good time and everyone has plenty of stamina left then we can continue a bit further towards Wargrave and St Patricks Stream before turning back.
This tour is perfect for paddlers who already have experience and can paddle 5km stood up, but are looking to to gain extra skills, build confidence and gain experience of wider sheltered waterways with flow and motion, it is an experience that will help improve your technique and make great memories.
If you choose to bring your own board and equipment, please note that PFD's and Quick Release Waist Belts are Mandatory for this tour due to moving water. If you do not have one, you can hire one at the checkout process and we will be happy to help you buy one too if you so wish. Please also ensure you are onsite at least 30 minutes before the launch time to set your board up in plenty of time for the pre-paddle briefing.
You will be expected to be able to carry your board, self-launch, turn, stop, stand up paddle and self rescue with minimal support for this tour.
If you are not quite there yet, please try the Basingstoke Canal tours instead. If you feel the need to paddle on your knees for a break though, that is completely fine.
Please note that due to limited time availability; bookings are on a first come first serve basis so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible!
