Explore New Waterways with us!
Description
Explore new waterways with our Pangbourne Meadows Thames Valley Tour run by our new staff member and Paddle UK Leader Amie.
This 2.5hr hour guided tour sets off from Adventure Dolphin Car Park, and an overflow car park nearby at Pangbourne Meadows. Both are pay & display, so please plan for this.
We'll head upstream over the lock onto the Thames and take in some beautiful waterside properties and rural countryside, paddling past Beale Wildlife Park towards Goring and Streatley, This is a fantastic route for nature spotting with wide open waters, weeping willows and lots of water wildlife and birds. The return journey will be downstream and flow assisted for a faster and easy ride home when you are getting tired.
If conditions and timings allow, there may be the option for a pub stop break too, so bring your cash/card in case the opportunity arises.
This tour is perfect for paddlers who already have experience and can paddle at least 5km stood up, but are looking to improve skills, build confidence and gain experience of wider sheltered waterways with flow and motion, it is an experience that will help improve your technique and make great memories.
If you choose to bring your own board and equipment, please note that PFD's and Quick Release Waist Belts are Mandatory for this tour due to moving water.
If you do not have one, you can buy one from our shop for express delivery within 48hrs.
Please also ensure you are onsite at least 30 minutes before the launch time to set your board up in plenty of time for the pre-paddle briefing.
You will be expected to be able to carry your board, self-launch, turn, stop, stand up paddle and self rescue with minimal support for this tour.
If you are not quite there yet, please try the Basingstoke Canal tours instead. If you feel the need to paddle on your knees for a break though, that is completely fine.
Please note that due to limited time availability; bookings are on a first come first serve basis so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible!
