Newbury Kennet & Avon Tour with Coaching

Explore New Waterways and take your paddle skills to the next level with our Newbury Kennet & Avon Tour.

This guided tour sets off from Newbury Wharf, where there is a Pay and Display Car Park and cafe facilities.

We'll head left towards Kintbury, through Newbury Town Centre and take in some rural countryside, a nature reserve and portage a Lock or two, with some fun challenges along the way to help build skills and stamina. If we have time and everyone is willing, there is the opportunity for a pub stop for lunch or a drink too on the way home.

This tour is perfect for paddlers who have already attended a 90 minute or 2hr lesson or tour and are looking to gain extra skills, build confidence and gain experience of new sheltered waterways with some sections with portages and flow and motion, it is an experience that will help improve your technique and make great memories.

You will be expected to be able to carry your board, self-launch, turn, stop, stand up paddle and self rescue with minimal support for this tour.

If you are not quite there yet, please try the Basingstoke Canal tours or improver lessons instead.

If you feel the need to paddle on your knees for a break at any point though, that is completely fine.

Please note that due to limited time availability; bookings are on a first come first serve basis so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible!

Please note, this event requires a minimum number of 3 participants to run, in the unlikely event we do not reach minimum numbers you will be offered an alternative date or a credit voucher valid for 12 months to rebook another session at a convenient time.

You must be able to carry your board for relatively short distances on land for the town center portage.

Self rescue skills.

Quick Release Waist Belts are an essential due to flow.

Quick Dry Light layers - and water/windproof layers if chilly/raining

Soft soled footwear/neoprene boots.

Capped or Beanie Hat depending on rain/cold

Towel & a full change of clothes for the car for afterwards.

Snacks, Drinks and Money for the pub stop.
