Experience outdoor active relaxation with us
Description
We have joined forces with Kushee Yoga to bring you the ultimate active relaxation day in the heart of Hampshire Countryside on the Beautiful Basingstoke Canal.
We'll start our day with Yoga Instructor Beth teaching some warming Hatha Yoga on the green at Colt Hill Wharf Picnic Area to stretch our bodys, salute the sun and prepare for paddle adventures.
Then head SUP Coach Michelle will lead an unforgettable experience as you paddle through history to Odiham Castle. This ruined castle situated in Hampshire is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign. It's said that the site was chosen by King John because it lays halfway between Windsor and Winchester.
THE ROUTE: Basingstoke Canal | 4 mile / 6.5km paddle
Take in the beautiful scenery as you pass by open fields, tree lined banks, and hopefully spot Hampshire wildlife such as deer, kingfishers, red kites and heron's. Pass Newlyns Farm, then ride under the limbo bridge to reach the castle. A lunch break is planned here so you can have some refreshments, take pictures of the ruins, stretch your legs with a walk around our local piece of history or just lie back for some floating relaxation.
After our paddle back to base, Beth will stretch your tired muscles with some relaxing Yin Yoga to finish your day.

🩹 The quality of our local waterways is something to always be aware of and it’s important to do your own research regarding this. When paddle boarding with us we ask that you cover up any minor cuts and abrasions, and to wash once you are home if you fall/swim in the river, this is to reduce the risk of disease such as weil's disease. Paddle Up strongly recommends not to participate in paddling if I have any open wounds, and instead to reschedule.
