Enniscorthy Tidy Towns - River Cleanup

Sustainable Enniscorthy & Enniscorthy Tidy Towns - Slaney River, Kayak & Cleanup. 28th Sept 2025, 10am - 12pm.

The river Slaney is central to Enniscorthy, quite literally.

Yet how often do we stop to appreciate this beautiful natural resource that flows through our town?

You may cross the river daily by car, bike or foot, but how often have you actually been in or on the Slaney?

This Slaney River Kayak and Cleanup offers people the chance to experience the beauty of the river at close hand, enjoy the fun of kayaking & take some time to help keep the Slaney litter free.

Enniscorthy Tidy Towns wants to make our environment cleaner and greener.

Thanks to grant funding from LAWPRO (Local Authority Waters Programme), Enniscorthy Tidy Towns, Sustainable Enniscorthy and GoPaddle.ie are offering Enniscorthy people this fun opportunity in the hope of encouraging people to help keep our town and waterways litter free.

This event provides an opportunity to connect with volunteers in Enniscorthy Tidy Towns and get involved with environmental / sustainability initiatives in the town.

Light refreshments will be provided from 12:00 - 12:30.

Location: GoPaddle.ie, Edermine Bridge.

Cost: €10 booking fee

Age group & competence: over 16 and water confident

We provide:

1. Double Kayak and Paddle
2. Wetsuit
3. Buoyancy Aid
4. Helmet
5. Fully qualified Canoeing Ireland Kayak Instructor

16 and over.

We ask that all participants are water confident.

1. something to wear under the wetsuit, ie swimming togs or shorts and T- shirt
2. towel - for changing at your car before and after the clean up
3. old runners that will get wet
4. any relevant medication, eg inhalers etc...
5. gardening gloves if you have them.
