Description

Embark on a fantastic introduction to sailing with our RYA Singlehanded Level 1 Sailing course. This course is perfect for beginners with no prior experience and serves as the first step in the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training scheme.

Course Highlights:

Course Content
  1. Introduction to Sailing: Get familiar with the basics of sailing in a controlled and enjoyable environment.
  2. Dinghy Handling Techniques: Develop key skills for handling a singlehanded dinghy.
  3. Safety and Equipment Use: Learn how to use all provided equipment safely, including wetsuits.
Achieve Your First Milestone

By the end of this two-day course, you will have a basic understanding of dinghy handling techniques and essential background knowledge. You will be able to sail confidently in all directions and understand how to launch and recover a boat.





Requirements

  1. No experience required
  2. Must be 16yrs+
  3. You will need to be able to manoeuvre around the boat, this includes bending down and possibly kneeling on the boat.

What to bring

  1. Swimming clothes to go under a wetsuit, we will provide a wetsuit for you to wear or you are welcome to bring your own if you have one.
  2. Shoes that can get wet, you need to wear shoes at all times throughout the course. Old trainers or wetsuit boots are fine.
  3. Lunch - There are many food outlets nearby, including the lowry food court and Tesco express. We do recommend bringing lunch.
