    Embark on the first stage of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme with our Stage 1 course, designed for complete beginners aged 8 and up. Join us for two days of fun and learning on the water this summer, and discover a new sport along the way!

    Course Highlights:
    1. Understanding Boat Dynamics: Gain a basic understanding of how a boat sails, including steering and handling.
    2. Practical Skills: Learn essential skills such as launching and recovery, steering, and identifying parts of the boat.
    3. Basic Sailing Techniques: Develop the foundational skills necessary to steer and understand the basic principles of sailing.
    Achieve Your First Milestone:

    Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, signing off on skills as you master them. By the end of the course, you'll have the confidence and knowledge to navigate a boat and appreciate the fundamental concepts of sailing.


    Cancellation Policy: 5 Days - Once booked you can cancel up until 5 days before the 1st day of the course. For any cancellations that occur within the 5 day window or during the course, no refund or transfers will be allowed. 


















    Requirements
    1. Be able to swim 25m
    2. Aged 8yrs+


    What to bring
    1. Shorts/T-shirt to go under a wetsuit. Feel free to bring your own wetsuit if you have one.
    2. Appropriate footwear: Must be closed toe shoes that are non slip or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet. (No flip flops or sliders)


    1. Packed lunch, drinks and extra snacks


    1. Suncream
    2. Towel
    3. A bag for your wet kit
    4. Warm/waterproof clothing, if the weather is cold, wet or windy.
    5. £1 coin for your locker (No change is available at the centre)



    Itinerary
    1. Arrive at the centre and meet your instructor at 10am.
    2. This course is a mixture of on the water activity with a few theory elements.
    3. You'll stop for lunch around 12:30pm for 30 minutes and then resume activity.
    4. 15:45 you'll be off the water ready to get changed to leave by 16:00
